As a response to the unique needs of our first-year student population, some information on this website may be tailored to provide information, support, and resources to incoming and transitioning first-year students at MSU. We also recognize that non-first-year students may find this site useful so we encourage all MSU students to explore and interact with this website. We have included resources and tools that will be helpful for all members of the Spartan student community.
In addition to the student-focused resources we also have dedicated a portion of this website to parents of MSU students. We hope that parents will use the website to learn more about the health and wellness services available to the MSU student in their family. Also, resources to support a parent's role as a mental health advocate and a support system for a student in distress are also available on this site.
Freshmen Accessing Community and Embracing Survival (FACES) is a comprehensive, university-wide mental health initiative supported by the Garrett Lee Smith Campus Suicide Prevention Grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). Sponsored by the Michigan State University Counseling Center, FACES seeks to support and promote college student mental health and wellness through educational training and programming within the campus community.
